New grilles, front bumpers and some optional revisions in roof pillar treatments characterized the Torino models of 1974. The grille used a finer mesh and was now segmented by seven vertical division bars. The bumper had a slightly more prominent center protrusion with the rubber faced guards moved a bit closer together. Opera windows could be ordered, at extra cost, to fancy up the rear pillar of coupes. Side trim was revised to eliminate the wide, horizontally ribbed decorative panels used on high trim models in the previous season. Stand-up hood ornaments were seen on some 1974 Torino models. The Torino series was the base trim level and featured windshield, rear window and rain gutter moldings; all vinyl upholstery and trim; floor mats; hubcaps; three speed manual transmission; HR78x14 tires (G78x14 on hardtops); and a base 302 CID V-8. The Torino station wagon also power front disc brakes; HR78x14 tires and a three-way tailgate. The Gran Torino was the top trim level and included all above items plus manual front disc brakes; cloth and vinyl seat trims; carpeting; lower bodyside, wheel well and deck lid moldings; dual note horn; trunk mat; deluxe two spoke steering wheel and chrome foot pedal trim. The Gran Torino Squire wagon also had deluxe pleated vinyl interior trim; wheel covers; wood grain bodyside appliqu�s; wood grain tailgate trim and wood grain dashboard inserts. The Gran Torino Sport was the playful version of the Gran Torino line. Its standard extras included pleated, all vinyl trim; and color-keyed dual outside racing mirrors.

PRODUCTION NOTES: Total series output was 428,086 units. Styles 53D and 53K were called four-door pillared hardtops. Style 65R was a 6-passenger model. All 1974 Torinos were V-8 powered.
